We are now looking for an experienced Controller for a larger organization in Stockholm County. The assignment involves a central role within one of the organization's most important support functions, focusing on governance, development, and quality assurance.
You will report to the head of operational support and hold a key position where you contribute both strategically and operationally. The role involves developing working methods, strengthening financial management, and ensuring high quality in decision-making materials and follow-up.
The organization encompasses several areas within community building, such as urban development, operation and management of public environments, and regulatory activities within the construction and environmental sectors. This requires an understanding of both tax-funded and fee-funded operations, as well as finances related to development and investment projects that span several years.
Examples of tasks
Analyze and follow up on finances within both tax-funded and fee-funded operations as well as within development and investment projects.
Be responsible for the budget process, forecasts, reporting, and financial analyses.
Identify efficiency opportunities and propose measures for improved financial management.
Ensure correct financial follow-up of projects according to applicable regulations.
Prepare decision-making materials for audits and other inquiries.
Work with risk analysis and internal control.
Develop and quality assure financial processes, systems, and reporting tools.
Provide advisory support to managers and employees on financial matters.
As a controller, you will be part of the client's expanded management team and actively participate in strategic discussions and decisions. You will contribute with analysis and financial insight that is crucial for sustainable and effective organizational development in the long term.
Requirements:
Academic degree in finance or equivalent.
Several years of experience as a controller, preferably from municipal operations or another complex organization.
Good understanding of community building processes as well as development and investment economics in long-term projects.
Strong knowledge of the Local Government Act, the Accounting Act, and recommendations from the Council for Municipal Accounting (RKR).
Good system proficiency and experience in qualified financial analysis.
Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
As a person, you are structured, analytical, and driven. You thrive in a role where you combine strategic thinking with operational execution and have an easy time building trust and collaborating across organizational boundaries.
